Welcome to Allagash, Maine
Nestled among the rolling hills of northern Maine, the small town of Allagash has had a long history steeped in logging and tourism. The famous Allagash River winds its way through 90 miles of the largest undeveloped piece of land east of the Mississippi. Thousands of canoers make the trek down the river each year, enjoying the solitude and the untouched beauty of this area.

It is in this setting that Allagash Wood Products stands apart from other furniture manufacturers. We actually handle all aspects of the business. From stump to picnic table, every step in the furniture making process takes place right at our site.

We take great pride in managing our woodlot in a sustainable and environmentally safe manner. We select the trees to be cut and bring them from the woods to our landing.

By harvesting our trees during the winter months, the thick blanket of snow and frozen conditions ensures very little damage to the residual trees and saplings.
. The trees are then cut to specific lengths and transported to our mill for sawing. Here, a thin blade band saw allows for very little waste and enables us to get the most out of each log.
After the rough lumber is dried it is sent through our planer and sorted so that only the top quality boards and planks make it to our shop.
The products that leave our workshop represent the true meaning of value-added. The wood has gone from tree to the finished product right on our site.
